Striking Large Old Egyptian Silver Overlay On Copper Platter Charger Cairoware

Description

Offered is fine example of a large (13 3/8" diameter) Egyptian Revival Cairoware metalwork platter or charger with spectacular hand hammered finely detailed silver overlay on heavy solid copper. It likely dates to the first half of the 20th century. The charger is profusely decorated in silver with Egyptian pharaonic scenes, animal gods and ancient hieroglyphics. This highly decorative piece would display beautifully hanging on the wall or as a tray on a table.
The charger has a hook on the back for wall hanging.
The charger is in very good estate
condition
with no dents, breaks, repairs, or losses to the silver overlay. The silver has a beautiful soft patina. The copper on the back has some tarnish.
